As a small boy I remember
listening to Sons of the Pioneers, Marty Robbins
and Johnny Western on our (very) small family
farm in Northern Utah. I have always enjoyed
listening to western songs that tell a story.
As if someone took a Louis L'Amour novel,
condensed it down to 2 1/2 minutes, and then put
music to it. I also like to write songs and
poems that reflect my experiences I've had while
riding a mountain trail on one of my horses or
gathering cattle in the fall. I only consider
myself a Weekend Cowboy because I still can't
build a loop. Maybe someday. Call me old
fashion but I believe that if everyone truly
lived "The Cowboy Way" this world would be a
better place. |
